Living Your Destiny Despite Difficulties in Life with Vivian Guzman
Maybe it was a mastermind slash retreat slash training slash right. It was a lot of different things that we were doing when we met and we just kind of hit it off. We both have these bubbly personalities, you know, and I’m of course always attracted to people that are, that are like me in that sense.
And, and then we had the wonderful opportunity to go to dinner together with a couple of girlfriends that I. Able to introduce her to, and, um, that’s exciting too. So, um, we wanna welcome you Vivian to the show.
Thank you for having me. This is so exciting to be here with you.
Well, thank you. Thank you. Yeah, so I can’t wait to explore some of the things I’m really excited to tell everyone about you.
So let me do that without further ado. Let me tell everyone a little bit about you. Um, you’re a producer, a host, an actress, and a content creator. Um, you have the uplifting show ‘Dishing It’, and we’ll talk a little bit about the show, um, where you spotlight. Inspiring world changers while celebrating their culture, wisdom and accomplishments all over a home cooked meal.
And I was fortunate enough to see this in action. Um, when we were at the event, you, you, uh, made that event, one of the things that you could be able to do that while you were there. In fact, gosh, you know, there were a lot of people doing a lot of different things. All of us were kind of scrambling around and interviewing one another, etc.
Um, you may have seen her on the TV series 24 with Jack Bauer who’s cell phone never, ever, ever runs out. Juice , which is one of the things that we always laugh about. That show was like, how come he never has to charge his battery? I don’t understand that. Um, and, uh, you also had a diva character called, uh, Maya Leono, uh, with days of your lives and she’s still in jail.
She’s she’s from jail and maybe one day she’ll come back to the show. We’ll see what happens, ed. Um, you’ve appeared on the Howard stern show and E entertainment network and extra. And again, you are the host of ‘Dishing It’ and, um, you’re from the Dominican Republic, but raised in Brooklyn, New York, which is funny because when you all listen to her, you’re gonna know that she’s from New York.
You’re definitely gonna know that. Um, you’ve overcome some, uh, living in terrible conditions. We’re gonna talk a lot about that. A mystery health crisis in family dysfunction to become the first of eight siblings to graduate with a broadcasting degree from Brooklyn college and successfully execute a career in media.
So with that welcome, welcome. Welcome Vivian. We are delighted to have you here. You know, one of the things that, that, uh, was the reason I asked you to be on the show is because you have such a great positive, optimistic outlook on, on everything. Just really a. Loud personality. Can I say that that’s kind of, and, and that’s a compliment by the way.
That is a compliment. I didn’t say you were loud. right. Um, it’s a loud personality and I really like that because, uh, you know, I, I mean, when I was younger, I was much louder than I am now, which is. I’m calmed down quite a bit in my, in my age as I’ve aged, but I love this loud personality because it’s so attractive, you know, and I love the positive outlook.
Um, and, and that really what was, what was most attractive to me. So tell us a little bit about, I wanna kind of go backwards because I know if you came from a family of eight and I, cuz I’m one of 36 first cousins. I know how big families. It isn’t easy. So you come from this family of eight. You’re trying to be seen, you’re trying to maybe babysit some kids.
Maybe you’re the middle kid. Tell us a little bit about that situation because it didn’t start off. I imagine it didn’t start off. And it certainly in, in the Dominican Republic with all this positivity and this outlook of, oh my gosh, life is wonderful and humanity is wonderful. Tell us a little bit about your backstory so that we can understand a little bit more about you.
Wow. Thank you. That’s a beautiful question. It’s how it informs who we are. Right. Everything about our history. Uh, when I look at myself in context of eight, just so you know, my father married four times before he passed away. My mom was the third relationship in marriage. It lasted 26 years. And then, you know, he left us.
That was the beginning of me having my, whatever abandonment kind of concerns for myself for issues. And it led to me moving 23 times to date. I fall as the youngest almost well, the youngest between in that third marriage between my mom and dad, we are four. And I’m the youngest of that. In the big spectrum on child number seven and descending order.
And we are all not as connected still today from, I guess, the ancestral trauma that has been bestowed upon us from all of the dysfunction that we lived.
